Straight or TriPlane?

It may seem like a weird question to ask, that is exactly what we asked our customer for their project. You see, retaining walls have many different types of blocks-the most common one is the straight cut which is the one you are probably used to seeing. Then, we have the Tri-plane block-which gives dimension to an already very dimensional project. But honestly it is one of my favorites!

As always, we started with before pictures. I love seeing the transformation of an area after we put our touch on it. For this projected we were hired to built a small corner wall, a wall around the concrete patio, and a simple stone grill surround.

We started with the smallest part of the project, the corner wall, but do not let it fool you. It was the most time consuming and hardest part. You see with straight block you can easily do corners because well, the block is straight. But when you use Tri-Plane block-there is no corners. Most manufactures built block specifically to use in corners but with the unique color and block we could not get corners for this project.

Whenever corner blocks are not available you have to make your own. This is where the time consuming part comes into play. You have to measure each block separately and cut each one exactly. We had a couple places where these cuts where necessary.

Although it is a lot of work the end result is just amazing! The color of the stone brings life to the concrete patio. They match perfectly.

We also added three steps that just makes everything look better.

The end result of the complete wall its just plain beautiful. It is one of my favorite project this year. The difference from before and now is huge.

To finish this project we also added a stone grill surround.

But most importantly we left with a very happy customer. It took a lot of work but the end results speak for themselves. Visit us to see what else we have in store!
